That it sucks to have been reduced to so few companies?

I mean for most fixed wing aircraft, you just have Lockheed Martin, Northrop, and Boeing. (is Rockwell still around?)

For military helicopters really just Bell, Boeing, Sikorsky and Kaman on the outskirts of the business.

Sort of, the aerospace and defense divisions (the former North American and Rocketdyne) were sold to Boeing in the 90s.
