Projekt Huckepack (Project Piggyback)

For the America Bomber Project during WWII
they had Idea to use a Mistel-Gespann that is
a Heinkel He 177 bomber, carry a Dornier Do 217E powered with an additional Lorin-Ramjet.
the Mistel-Gespann liftoff at Bordeaux Luftwaffe base in France
the He 177 flies so fare west as they can then relace the Do 217E that ignite the Lorin-Ramjet.
over USA eastcoast the Do 217 makes it bombing, return back to Atlantic towards rendezvous point
with German U-Boat, Bomber crew bailout with parachute and is pickup by the sub
the bomber would be ditched after crew left it.

real project or Wiki Hoax ?

There were tests with various Lorin ramjets on a Do 217, but I can't
believe, that this would have been suitable for reaching the US.
It would just have increased fuel consume. And I severely doubt, that a
He 177 could have taken-off with this load !

Unknown for me ...

me to

the Wiki source say that Projekt Huckepack was chancel because of lack a Kerosene
needed for Ram engine and lost of Bordeaux Luftwaffe base in France in 1944

can the Do217E engine used also for taken-off ?
