Hi,

the last question for this topic,what was the SNCASE SE.1900
pilotless fighter aircraft project ?.

SE-1900 and SE-1910 were pilotless, indeed, but they were not 'aircraft'. Much less 'fighters'.

They were sleds on tracks, used to accelerate equipment for tests.
The 1910 held the world speed record for a while.

The SE 1900 was considered for launching several Leduc
designs. And aesthetically not unpleasant, I think ! ;)

Sorry, typed too fast. I should qualify this properly:
The SE-1910 held the world speed record for tracked vehicles for a while.

Two photos of the real things (from " Rene Leduc - Pionnier de la propulsion
à reaction" Lacroze/Ricco).
BTW, the SE 1900 was the version for conventional runways, so it didn't need
tracks.

the S.E. 1910 made 330 km/h (205 mph) on Railtrack

note, the Wing is in reverse to push the car on the tracks!

but wat is those gun like nozel in front, retro rockets ?
 
It was a Fi-103/V-1 with a SNCASE built puls jet, according to the
caption in the Leduc book.
The "gun like nozzle" could just be a shock absorber, I think.
 
Splendid! So the thing has been preserved and is exhibited at Istres air force base (Marseilles area)? Cool!
 
Am I right, that this memorial was inaugurated by Colonel Leduc in 1997 ?
Anybody know, if he was a relative of René Leduc ?

All I could find about Colonel Marc Leduc is that he became a General after that, taking the commandment of the BA 115 in Orange, and then the BA 110 at Creil.
I do not know if he is still in active military service or not, but he is mentioned as part of the team of Crystal System Consulting in 2009.

There is no hint as to whether he could be related to the "other" Leduc. I guess it's not that rare a name, so maybe and maybe not...

There is no family relationship from the Colonel Marc Leduc and the ramjet designer René Leduc. Nevertheless, his granddaughter Aline Leduc participated to the ceremony.

I was personally involved too, as I was working at that time for the CEV, located on BA 125. This is not an original, but a reconstruction, built on the initiative of the Colonel Leduc. For the record, the body of the V1 is based on a former Mirage III external tank.
