Unbuilt 3 seat heavy fighter project from 1922/23. Offered in versions with radial or in line engines. It was armed with 3 guns.

Looks err unique? Interesting wing/fuselage configuration for a fighter. I wonder if there any other drawings exists?
 
Could be very interesting so see more data about this aircraft: dimensions as least ?

The wings and undercarriage looks like a bigger version than the one in the ca.64 fighter.

Certianly does. I've never come across this before. I find the idea of a heavy fighter in the early 20s interesting. Would anyone have any ideas regarding rate of climb?

Thanks for the data Maveric. The wingspan it's just 1,75 meters more than the ca.64 but it's shorter: 8,80 m vs 9,05 m.
Looks like the Ca.65 was a little heavy fighter or the Ca.64 a big fighter.
 
Was one of the crew members a navigator (the front gun appears to be fixed in the drawing)?

That's a question at issue - Ca 64 dimensions. I have another data - 10 m wingspan and 6.84 m length. This is more plausible for 1920s fighter, isn't it?

these data are from the same book as for Caproni Ca.64...

Yes, it's more plausible and after work a bit with the drawings and dimensions as you can see in the post about the ca.64 the dimensions for the ca.65 are a lot more logical.

From the design of the Ca.65 born also 2 different projects, both never realized, named Caproni Ca.65a and Caproni Ca65b.
Here some pics, always taken from the book "Gli Aeroplani Caproni": (The first 2 are of the Ca.65a, the seconds are of the Ca.65b)

Do you have any detail of the engines on 65a and 65b projects?
 
I'm sorry but in my source there are very few info about the Ca.65 and all development. Nothing is said about the engine and the technical data only explain the purposed powers and dimensions...

A very old Italian book entitled I Cento Aeroplani Caproni - 1909-1930, by T. L. Barbero, published by Aeronautica.
