In chapter 17 of B.P. Ivanov's book Aircraft of N.N. Polikarpov (Rusavia 2004), there are descriptions and illustrations of several I-180 variants. The image below is of the improved version of the I-180-3 with the enclosed cockpit.

here is the I-180 series in comparison with anther Russian fighters,the mystery is the
MiG-9,drawing No.5,I think it was a misprint or La.9.

No.5 looks more like the I-210, a Shvetsov Ash-82/M-82 powered MiG-3.
According to Wikipedia, the I-210 was also known as MiG-9.
The I-211 was a direct descendent of the Mikoyan-Gurevich I-210 high-altitude fighter prototype, also known as the MiG-3-82 or MiG-9.
 
Two good books about these planes. And pics of I-185 kicking nazis ass... (from Maslov´s book).

It seemed to be that there is a series to Polikarpov,here is a reference to Project
called "61",it was mentioned in a book about I-180 and its derivative.

No cleaner aircraft lines than Russian fighters'. Not even the (undeservedly imho) much vaunted Italian designs come close.
