Model of Myasishchev M-56 from USSR-Russian Aviation & Space Collectibles (Alex Panchenko).

Description:
12.5 inches length model of Myasishchev`s OKB-23 early project of M-56 cannard bomber. It wings and engines layout are similar to that of the earlier M-52. By mid-1960 M-52 was abandoned for the even more advanced M-56.Design work on M-56K complex-the M-56 aircraft with the Kh-22 missiles-began 1958 and a number of different variants considered. In October 1960, Myasishchev`s OKB-23 was incorporated as a branch office of Vladimir Chelomey`s OKB-52, working on space missile systems. And Vladimir Myasishchev meanwhile, was promoted to become a director of TSAGI (Central Aerodynamic and Hydrodynamic Institute).A full-size mock up of M-56 was built and the maiden flight was expected in mid 1963, but Government resolution stopped the works on project and M-56 designs existed only as models at Myasishchev Design Bureau.

Two views of two M-56 variants - possibly from Aviation Enthusiast (from the days before I recorded sources) together with an artists impression from an article in Aviatsiya i Kosmonavitika (A+K) issue 11/1999 by Vladimir Rigmant called The Breakthrough Towards Mach 3.

Can we get some dimensions of color scans m56_2, m56_3, m56_4, m56_5, and m56_6?
They are rather small and the numbers don't show up that well.

Maybe we can have @ucon help us if need be.

10-piece encyklopedia of Myasishchev aircraft. Sold out

Oof! I hope that a new publishing run occurs, I'd hate to miss out on this set of Books.

Is there any chance of further copies of this Encyclopedia of 10 Volumes going on Sale again?

I am most interested in learning more about Myasishchev, the Man himself and the OKB's that also operated.

I too love Myasishchev designs. My wish is for Avico books - of the same incomparable standard (especially 3 views) - on the M-20 & M-18.

From a Russian site, it also gives information about the engines it would use.
