Saw this being unveiled at Farnborough last week, albeit the mock-up as security was heavy at the Finmeccanica stand so I couldn't get anywhere near it even though I had a business pass, and apologies for my not so detailed photos.

They are even better than mine. Well, the same situation happend again as last year during the Le Bourget with the AW149. It was also "heavily guarded", although the AW149 was at least closer to the general public.

Was in Orlando last week so up close and personal up to another mock up last week at Heli Expo.....this time got a good insight into the capacity of this new beast from Verigate. Though AW won't release any tech data such as speed as yet. First prototype they said will fly next year.

On 29 December 2020 a new version of the Leonardo AW169M made its maiden flight. The AW 169 LUH.

This new version is equipped with skids and a clearly visible adaptation to its horizontal stabilizer. At either end, the vertical fins curve inwards.

Leonardo faces £2bn damages claim for fatal Leicester City AW169 crash

Leonardo is facing a £2.15 billion ($2.63 billion) damages claim from the family of King Power Group founder and chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha who was killed alongside four others when his AW169 helicopter crashed in the UK shortly after take-off due to a tail rotor failure.

Sadly, these law suits are rarely about technical problems. Rather they are mostly about which party has deeper pockets.
